AMI is pleased to announce the dates for the fifth international conference on Thin Wall Packaging, which takes place from 7-9 December 2010 at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne, Germany. There will be a welcome reception and registration on the first evening followed by a two-day programme of expert presentations. It is a beautiful time to visit the region, with traditional markets and seasonal decorations.

Thin Wall Packaging 2010 provides a forum for leading food companies, retailers, packaging manufacturers, researchers, and suppliers to the industry to debate the latest developments and market trends.

Sustainability is the hot topic and Thin Wall Packaging provides a means of supplying high performance products whilst reducing the carbon footprint - new materials and manufacturing technology are reducing weight, and enhanced barrier properties are extending food shelf life to years in some cases. This type of plastics product is being tested as a glass and can replacement.  It is typically used to package a wide range of foodstuffs including yoghurt, yellow fats, ice cream, ready meals, sandwiches, bakery, fish, meat, fresh fruit and many others.
